Unwrap the science of mummies with your students
Explore the scientific study of mummies and the cultural insights that science helps expose with a field trip to Mummies of the World. Through the use of modern scientific techniques, the mummies in the exhibition have revealed extraordinary details about the past: how tall people were, how long they lived, what kinds of food they ate and from what diseases they suffered. Clothing, jewelry and other personal artifacts placed on or with a mummy can tell us about the person's status and lifestyle, as well as the values, beliefs, and attitudes of the culture in which they lived.
Plan about 60 to 90 minutes to explore the exhibition.

Contact the Buffalo Museum of Science by phone at 716.896.5200 x338 or email@example.com. Note: Reservations must be made at least two weeks prior to your visit. Entry to the exhibition is timed in 15-minute increments and subject to availability.
One adult for every ten students is required, and chaperones must remain with their students at all times. Students under the age of 18 are not permitted to visit the Buffalo Museum of Science without adult chaperone(s).
Parking for Student Groups
Buses are asked to drop students off in the rear of the building, which is also where the group entrance is located. Buses are asked to park in the bus parking lot, also located in the rear of the building.
Payment and Confirmation
We require a 10% non-refundable deposit, to be made at the time of your reservation. Balance is due on the date of your arrival. Payments can be made in the form of cash, credit (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) or a check made out to the Buffalo Museum of Science, but only one form of payment may be used to settle your invoice. We ask that you confirm the number of guests in your group two business days prior to your arrival. You will be required to pay for the number of guests noted in your reservation, regardless of whether your group size is smaller the day of your visit. An increase in group size is subject to payment and availability.
Report cancellations or changes to the museum’s group sales office at 716-896-5200 ext. 338. Reservations cancelled at least 14 days prior to the scheduled visit will be entitled to a full refund. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the scheduled visit are subject to forfeiture of your deposit, unless a new reservation is scheduled within four weeks of the original visit date. In this case, deposits paid will be credited to the re-scheduled date. Failure to cancel or reschedule within 14 days prior to your visit will result in a forfeiture of the deposit/ticket price paid.

- Where do we enter the exhibit?
The exhibit entrance is located on the Museum’s second floor in Hamlin Hall
- Can we bring a bag lunch?
Yes! Please reserve a lunch time when booking your visit.
- Is there lunch available for purchase at the Buffalo Museum of Science?
The Museum does offer snacks and made-to-order meals in Elements Café, but if you are running on a tight schedule we strongly encourage you to bring your own lunches.
- When is payment due for our group outing?
A 10% deposit is due at the time of booking. The rest of your payment is expected to be settled the day of your visit using ONE form of payment.
- What if I need to cancel my trip?

Group rates are reserved for groups of 10 or more when scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
